" Look Out, We're Coming to Get You!" An opulent requiem
Shooting began in early 1990. For three years, DEFA camerman Steffen Sebastian and director Carl G. Hardt documented events in the Prenzlauer Berg and Mitte districts of Berlin. They watched young people take over buildings like Schönhauser Allee 5, the bars Eimer and Red Pub, and the Tacheles artists' project; bands split up and come together; concerts in Thuringia and on the Baltic Sea; the antics of the pirate radio station "Radio P;" reconstruction of the synagogue on Oranienburger Street.
...
Alexander "Aljoscha" Rompe, lead singer of the band Feeling B, was one of the brains behind the activities during this exciting period and was involved in the process of collecting the film material.
In 1993, Stephan Roeder, production manager of the DEFA documentary "Flüstern und Schreien," and Carl G. Hardt, its producer, made the insane decision to produce a new music film. This is it the result of twenty years of shooting.

Because they had no subsidies or financial backers and neither of the producers had a bank of his own, in 2001 the filmmakers took the opportunity to test a working version of the film in theaters from Rostock to Leipzig, using the admission fees to put the finishing touches on the film that is, image processing, voiceovers, music and sound mixing. This unique method of film production made it possible to involve the audience as co-producer, and the film crew would like to offer its most sincere thanks to this new partner. Welcome to the filmmakers' club!
After two years of negotiations with film distributors and cinema owners, the Lübeck firm of Kleft & Kleft Filmtheater GmbH agreed to give "Look Out! We're Coming to Get You" a chance in their CineStar theaters, even without distribution. Many many thanks to them as well!
